Adult Learn-to-Swim Program

Information

2022: The Adult Learn to Swim Program has been postponed indefinitely until the swim center reopens or we find another pool.

These lessons are for those that cannot swim at all, need to learn breathing techniques, want to swim laps for fitness and/or triathlons. All lessons will be taught by trained, adult instructors who are passionate about working with you to accomplish your swimming goals. Swim lessons are for adults (18 years and older).

Our program has helped hundreds of adults in the Bozeman and surrounding areas learn life saving skills of swimming. Please reserve your spot in our lessons by purchasing a swim lesson session at the bottom of the page.

What to Expect

Show up at the Swim Center on 1211 W. Main St. with enough time to get into your suit and complete a registration form. Lessons start promptly at their designated times. Lesson information:

  • We recommend coming 15 minutes early for your first lesson, and about 10 minutes early for following lessons.
  • Bring your own towel and goggles if you have them. Goggles are not a requirement; we have some to borrow during lessons.
  • Class sign-up are run on a first come, first serve basis. Each class will close when registration is full.
  • Class sizes are kept at a 1:3 instructor to student ratio.

For insurance and liability purposes, all participants must sign a 30-day waiver* or be a current member of US Masters Swimming (USMS). This is part of why we ask participants to arrive extra early for your first lesson.

*One waiver per swimmer, per life-time. If you already signed a waiver, you have the opportunity to purchase a membership with USMS before the start of lessons.
