Patrick Murtagh
Coach
Patrick Murtagh has been a Montana Master's swimmer and coach for 35 years. He and his bride to be live mostly in Bozeman (love the cross-country skiing) but spend some summer months in Billings for its closeness to the Beartooths. In college, Patrick qualified for the 1980 Olympic Trials, and as a master has held a number of world top-ten rankings including #1 in the 100m butterfly (2017), missing the world record by only 1 second. He loves coaching and helping masters feel good about their training while watching them steadily improve. He especially loves calling for short sprints at the end of workouts!

Katie Horn
Coach
Katie Horn has been a Bozeman level 1 masters coach since 2025 and a member of the club since 2024. She grew up swimming competitively in Illinois, setting records at her local pool and qualifying for state each year. In college, she played water polo for Illinois State. After a few years away from the pool, the smell of chlorine and the love for the pool drew her back in to training and competition.
