Adults in Montana Learned to Swim from our Lessons

For the second year in a row, adults in Montana learned valuable swimming skills through our lessons. Our team’s lessons helped adults in Bozeman, MT and our surrounding communities. We had people travel from as far as Ennis and Livingston, through typical Montana spring weather to participate in our swim lessons. Participants from our two years of lessons came to our program with a wide range of goals and non-swimming backgrounds. So far our organization has helped 88 adults learn life saving skills of swimming and empowered participants to reach goals they had previously never thought possible. In 2017, we helped 40 adults learn to swim. This year, we helped 48 adults make huge strides to reaching their swimming goals. Some people who took our lessons wanted to learn how to swim enough to complete their first triathlon and not panic when they were around water. Other people wanted to enrich their life; learning to swim opens doors to family vacations near the ocean and lakes, dream vacations to a tropical paradise, and fun times swimming with the grandkids.

Our Masters team is about so much more than just swimming fast and breaking records. As head coach of the team, life-long fitness benefits of swimming is the main goal of my coaching and training program. Members of our team have always pushed the limits of how much we can give back and be invested our community, while still prioritizing their own well-being. Most of our members are super active, engaged members of the community who work in professions to help others through physical therapy, marketing and connecting organizations in town, start up businesses aiming to improve the lives of adults one niche at a time. In order for our team to continue helping adults in Montana improve the quality of their life, we need to take care of our selves and make sure that the team is financially sustainable. Bottom line is our wonderful Adult learn to swim program would NOT exist without the Bozeman Masters Swim team.

Participants of our lessons have also said we offer the best lessons in town.

I attribute this to the fact that our lessons are taught by members of our swim team, who train week after week with their coach to truly become a masters of the sport of swimming.
