We are offering quality, free swimming lessons for any adult who wants to learn how to swim and be safe in and around the water. Our instructors care about helping you reach your goals. If you’re looking to learn how to swim for your first triathlon, scuba diving adventure, open water swim, canoing or kyaking, or swim for fitness the Bozeman Masters Swim Team invites you to join us and take advantage of this great opportunity.
The Swimming Saves Lives Foundation, an organization dedicated to partnering with Masters Swim teams throughout the nation to increase opportunities for adults to learn how to swim and reduce the rate of downing in the United States of America.
The ultimate goal is to help adults, learn the life-saving skill of swimming and offer opportunities for continuation and growth through fitness and aquatics.
One Free Swim Lesson
Saturday, April 1, 2017. If you’re taking your child(ren) to the Bozeman Swim Center’s Annual Water Safety Event or want to take one swim lesson, this is a great opportunity. These lessons are on a first come, first serve basis. Walk in the door 5 minutes before the lesson start time below, sign up for a 30 minute lesson, and fill out a waiver. Space is limited to a 1:3 instructor to student ratio.
Multiple Free Swim Lessons, Adults 18 years and older
The lessons are for those that cannot swim at all, need to learn breathing techniques, want to swim laps for fitness and or triathlons. All lessons will be taught by trained, adult instructors who are passionate about working with you to accomplish your swimming goals. We have five different sessions of lessons to choose from.

- Show up at the swim center, 1211 W. main street with enough time to get into your suit and enter the pool at the start time.
- We recommend coming early for your first lesson.
- Bring your own towel and goggles if you have them. Goggles are not a requirement; we have some to borrow during lessons.
- Class sign up are run on a first come, first serve basis. Each class will close when registration is full. Class sizes are kept at a 1:3 instructor to student ratio. Feel free to sign up for a session wait list, and we will contact you if space opens up.
Swimming Stroke Technique Clinics
Experienced coaches of the Bozeman masters team, will offer stroke development clinics for adults who want to attend a technique workshop to improve their swimming abilities.These clinics will be designed to help adults swim better through incorporating drills and using equipment to help participants better understand swimming mechanics and how to swim efficiently. Our clinic instructors have a wealth of experience ranging from teaching swim lessons to competing in triathlons and open water swimming events. Dates and Registration will be posted on this webpage as soon as they are available.
Swim with the Team Trial Period
For insurance and liability purposes, all participants must sign a 30-day waiver* or be a current member of US Masters Swimming (USMS).
*One waiver per swimmer, per life-time. If you already signed a waiver, you have the opportunity to purchase a membership with USMS before the start of lessons. Click here to sign up with USMS
